FREQUENTLY ASKED.
Straight answers about what CMP42 is, where your data lives, how the Design Partner Program works and what it costs. If your question is not here, write to hello@protagx.com — we reply within one working day.
FOUR TOPICS. NO SMALL PRINT.
Product
What is CMP42?
CMP42 is a headless CRM for the era in which AI is the UI. It is a well-structured Context + Models + Processes graph and a fast, boring API that any agent — ChatGPT, Claude, your team’s Slack bot, the app you build next month — can read and write against.
What does “headless” mean here?
There is no forced UI: no drag-and-drop pipeline builder and no dashboards until you write them yourself. The admin surface is a data table and a migrations CLI. Your team keeps its interface — ChatGPT, Claude, Slack or your own app — and CMP42 feeds it.
Which AI clients does it work with?
Anything MCP-compliant: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, and any custom agent using the MCP SDK. For non-MCP clients we expose REST + GraphQL. The auth model and audit trail are the same across surfaces.
Does CMP42 ship its own AI model or “AI insights”?
No. We ship no proprietary model and no AI insights layer. Bring the model you trust: CMP42 gives it grounded context, and your agent produces the insight.
How is this different from a Notion + Claude workflow?
Notion is documents. CMP42 is typed objects with typed edges. An agent asking “who at Aspen owns the Q4 renewal” walks a graph and cites source objects. Notion answers as chat.
How do Models work?
CMP42 ships lean defaults for contact, company, deal, task and activity. You extend them in TypeScript-shaped YAML, versioned in git and migrated with a single command. Writes are validated against your Models with clear errors, migrations are backwards-compatible, and every model automatically becomes a set of MCP tools.
Can we audit what an agent did?
Yes. Processes log every transition, and every write records the human or agent that produced it. Run history lets you replay a process against a past snapshot, and token spend is visible per process and per run.
Data & compliance
Do you self-host?
Yes. Same binary, same models. It runs on your Postgres and object store, and the MCP tool surface is identical. We publish the self-hosted image in Beta (Q1 2027); Design Partners get Alpha access to it.
What data leaves our environment?
On the managed EU tier — none, except what you explicitly send to an agent you connect. CMP42 does not train on your data. There are no third-party analytics, no fingerprinting, no session replay. On self-hosted, nothing leaves your environment at all.
What about compliance?
GDPR-native by construction. AVV / DPA on request. EU-hosted on the managed tier. SOC 2 will follow at GA SOC 2 Type II is scheduled for GA in Q3 2027 (scope: Security, Availability, Confidentiality). The Alpha runs on the same internal controls but is not yet externally audited; the report letter goes to Design Partners as soon as it is issued. — the Alpha is not yet certified.
Where is the managed tier hosted?
In the EU. If you need full control over where your data physically lives, run the self-hosted image on your own infrastructure.
Do you train AI models on our data?
No. CMP42 does not train on your data, and it ships no proprietary model that could.
Does this website track visitors?
No. The site sets zero cookies, runs zero tracking and loads zero third-party scripts. It is hosted on a Hetzner server in Germany. The only personal data we receive is what you send us.
Design Partner Program
What is the Design Partner Program?
Twelve companies spend six months with us in Alpha, starting October 2026. You get direct-Slack access to the founder, a monthly co-design call, priority feature requests, full Alpha access, a lifetime founder rate, and the right to propose and name one MCP tool that ships to every future customer. We ask for real usage and honest feedback.
How do we apply?
Four steps. Send the form (what you do, why you want CMP42, what your first named MCP tool would be). We book a 15-minute call within a week — three questions each, no slide deck. If we both say yes, you get access within seven days, with a one-hour onboarding, a shared Slack channel and a first-model mapping session. Then six months of Alpha. Applications close in December 2026.
What do you ask of Design Partners?
Real usage with actual data (not a demo tenant), a weekly feedback loop, honest defect reports, a realistic evaluation against the tools you use today, and design conversations under NDA. Nothing else — no testimonials, referrals or logos.
What if we cannot commit to real usage in Alpha?
Then defer to Beta. We prefer a small, honest Alpha over a broad, quiet one. Beta opens Q1 2027 with a waitlist.
What does “name an MCP tool” mean?
Each Design Partner can propose a tool that fits their workflow. If it fits the platform, we build it and ship it with your naming, to every future customer.
Will you publish our name or a case study?
Only if you agree. Public case studies are optional and co-written with you. Otherwise we quietly acknowledge you and never name you without permission.
What if we drop out of Alpha?
Your slot returns to the pool. Your data is exported to you in a standard format and deleted from our side within 30 days. Your MCP tool remains in the product with your acknowledgement.
Pricing
Is €6,900 the price forever?
€6,900 is a one-time price for the six-month Alpha programme — not a monthly fee. After Alpha, Design Partners keep the Design Partner rate for as long as they stay. At GA we will publish standard pricing; you will not be moved onto it unless you choose to. The post-Alpha terms are confirmed with you on the call. The one-time €6,900 covers the six months of Alpha in full. From month seven, Design Partners continue on the lifetime founder rate: €149 net per workspace per month, invoiced annually (~€1,788 net per year), on the Managed tier with unlimited users and every feature shaped in the Alpha. Continuation is opt-in — no automatic conversion, no price increase while the contract runs without interruption.
Is the Design Partner price one-time or recurring?
One-time. €6,900, paid once, for six months of Alpha from October 2026 and everything the program includes.
Do Context, Models or Processes cost extra?
No. Context, Models and Processes are included in every plan.
When will standard pricing be published?
At general availability, planned for H1 2027. Managed EU and self-hosted options are planned; we will not publish placeholder numbers before then.
Are prices net or including VAT?
All figures are net prices for entrepreneurs (§ 14 BGB); CMP42 is not sold to consumers. Under a direct contract with protagx no VAT is charged (§ 19 UStG, Kleinunternehmerregelung); when purchased through a sales partner the partner’s own VAT rates apply.
