Licence.
Courtesy translation. The German version is legally binding.
In three sentences: You may pass on the articles from cmp42.com in full and unchanged, as long as you name us and do not do it commercially. Product pages, key visuals, legal texts and the source code are excluded. Quoting is always allowed — the right to quote applies regardless of this licence.
What the licence covers
The editorial articles on cmp42.com — everything under /blog/ and its German counterparts — are published under
Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).
The licence text itself is at Creative Commons: creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0
A page under this licence carries the notice at the end of the article and a rel="license" in its source. A page without that notice is not under the licence.
What you may do
- Share — copy and redistribute the article, in any medium or format.
- Under three conditions:
- Attribution. Name the author, name the licence, and link the original page. A line you can copy is below.
- NonCommercial. Not for purposes primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation. If you are unsure whether your case counts: ask us, we answer.
- NoDerivatives. If you remix, shorten, translate or build the article into something else, you may not distribute the result.
Quoting is always allowed
The right to quote is part of copyright law itself and does not depend on this licence. You may quote from any article — commercially too, and from the pages the licence does not cover — as long as the quotation serves a point of your own, stays proportionate, and names the source.
That applies in particular to the figures on the benchmark page. It was built to be cited.
What is excluded
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Product, use-case and pricing pages | Advertising copy, not editorial content |
| The CMP42 wordmark, logo and key visuals | Trade mark law; a content licence grants no trade mark rights |
| Legal texts (imprint, privacy, terms, this page) | Statements about this provider; passing them on for someone else’s offering would mislead |
| The source code of the website and of CMP42 | Its own terms; CMP42 is proprietary software, all rights reserved |
| Third-party material, marked where it appears | Not our rights to give |
How to credit us
Take this line and replace the title and address:

More than the licence allows
If you have something in mind the licence does not cover — a translation, a shortened version, a reprint in a trade publication, use in training somebody pays for — that is not a no. It is a question. Write to hello@protagx.com; we usually say yes.
